Our name is taken from the stubby, graceless, green ferries that once plied the Narrows between Brooklyn and Staten Island. The trip cost a nickel. The best time for crossing was winter: the wind from the ocean sharp, the water in the bay choppy, Manhattan a distant, fog-encircled dream.
The Electric Ferry Press aspires to writing that finds us in one place and takes us to another. Not without some difficulty, some resistance, some uncertainty.
We founded the press to publish our own books with traditional care and attention to detail, and to please ourselves. If you have something you think we should consider, however, tell us about it. We invite submissions of good writing in any genre. Drop us a line or two using the Contact page and we will respond quickly.
